Why I Do What I Do (And Why It Matters More Than Ever)

Over the years of teaching, I’ve heard so many kind words from the women I’ve worked with. Every bit of feedback means the world to me.

But there are a few comments that come up again and again.

And honestly?

They remind me exactly why I do this work.

You make it feel safe and possible

So many women have been made to feel that exercise is risky, complicated, or only for the already-fit.

I hear it in their voices when they first arrive:

“I’m worried I’ll hurt myself.”

If this is something that concerns you – you might want to check out my blog post

So when someone says,

“You make it feel safe and possible”

– I know I’ve done my job.

Because movement should never feel frightening.

It should feel like something you can trust.

Something you can return to, step by step, in your own time.

You explain things in a way that makes sense

Another thing I hear often is:

“No one has ever explained it like that before.”

And that matters.

Because so much of the fitness world expects you to simply follow along.

But if you don’t understand what you’re doing – or why you’re doing it – it’s very hard to feel confident in your body.

That’s why I focus so much on breaking things down, particularly in my online Movement & Mobility Hub.

Slowing things down.

Helping you truly understand how your body moves – and how to support it properly.

It feels like I can actually do this

This might be the most important one of all.

“I feel like I can actually do this.”

Not perfectly.

Not all at once.

But in a way that feels manageable… and realistic.

Because progress doesn’t come from pushing through struggle.

It comes from finding that gentle line between challenge and overwhelm.

And staying just on the right side of it.

Why this matters

So many women have quietly stepped away from movement over the years.

Not because they don’t care about their health.

But because:

  • They lost confidence
  • They didn’t feel they belonged
  • Or they simply didn’t know where to start

That’s what I want to change.

Movement should feel possible

My work has always centred around one simple idea:

Movement should feel safe, accessible, and possible – no matter where you’re starting from.

Not intimidating.

Not confusing.

Not something you feel you have to “keep up” with.

But something that meets you exactly where you are.

If this sounds like you…

If you’ve ever felt unsure…

If you’ve ever held back because you didn’t want to get it wrong…

If you’ve ever thought, “maybe this just isn’t for me anymore”

Then please know this:

👉 It is still for you.

And it can feel different.

This blog is where I share that thinking – along with ideas, guidance, and simple ways to help you feel more confident in your body again.

Take what you need.

And leave the rest.
